Murwillumbah, the nearest town, has six fuel stations clustered along the main road. You won't struggle to find a pump.
The standout options:
- Andy's Garage, Bray Park (~20 min) — consistently the cheapest fuel in the area. Full service, friendly staff. This is where the locals fill up.
- Jack & Co Caltex (~25 min) — the only 24-hour option. If you're arriving late, this is your stop. Good café and food on site.
- Metro Petroleum (~25 min) — locals' cheapest tip, 4.5 stars from 91 reviews.
- BP Truckstop (~25 min) — gourmet deli inside. Worth stopping for a pie even if you don't need fuel.
Our recommendation: fill your tank in Murwillumbah on the way in. There are no fuel stations between Murwillumbah and the estate, and the drive through the valley is the kind of road you want to enjoy without worrying about the gauge.
Groceries and supplies
You won't need to bring everything from home. Murwillumbah has full supermarkets:
- Woolworths — widest range, open until 9 pm daily
- ALDI — budget-friendly essentials, open until 7 pm
- IGA Tweed Valley — good range of local products alongside the essentials
For something more local, Tyalgum General Store is just 15 minutes from the estate. It's a charming village store with local produce, basics, and the kind of character you don't find in a chain supermarket.
The real advantage: you're closer than you think
With fuel prices where they are, the maths matters. Sēlah Valley Estate is:
- 1 hour from the Gold Coast
- 2 hours from Brisbane
- 40 minutes from Gold Coast Airport
Compare that to destinations further afield where you're burning $150+ in fuel just to get there. A stay at Selah Valley is a fraction of the fuel cost of a longer road trip — and once you're here, the 430 acres are yours to explore on foot.

- Fill up in Murwillumbah on the way in — last fuel before the property
- Stock up at Woolworths or ALDI for your stay — grab breakfast supplies, snacks, and drinks
- Arriving late? Jack & Co Caltex is open 24 hours. The BP Truckstop deli does excellent takeaway meals until 10 pm
- Bring a cooler if you're planning to do the Tweed Valley Farm Trail — you'll want to pick up cheese, produce, and maybe a bottle from Husk Distillery along the way
